Some types of acne affect certain groups of people. For instance Acne Keloidalis which usually flares up in and around the neck area is common among people of African descent.

 

Acne Fulminans is a very serious form of acne mostly found between men.  This acne includes severe scarring and the abrupt onset of acne and can be accompanied by body aches, loss of appetite and a fever.

 

Acne Neonatorum is acne that affects infants and the mother by way of hormones transferred it to the child.


There is also a type of acne called Acne Medicametosa appearing as a side effect of certain medications which include oral contraceptives and over the counter drugs that contain potassium iodide, chlorine and bromide.
